Migration services

Dendrio helps organizations of all sizes to migrate to AWS in order to free up resources from the local datacenter. By doing this our clients also improve business productivity and agility. Migrations refers to applications, websites, databases, storage, physical or virtual servers, or an entire datacenter. Dendrio’s team can help you reach the business goals faster and with confidence.

Our migration services are dedicated to the people who are designing the business processes using technology and constantly looking for the best financial solutions to ensure that the project achieves the desired results.

Assessment

At the start of your journey, you identify your organization’s current readiness for operating in the cloud and the potential business outcomes for the migration. To build a solid business case, we recommend you go through a Cloud Adoption Readiness assessment. At the end of these 16 questions you will receive a first report. With TSO Logic we can help you correctly predict the TCO for the entire migration and operation process, correctly dimension the necessary machines keeping costs under control.

Readiness and Planning

In this phase we analyze the current environment, make an interdependence map and determine the right migration strategy (lift-and-shift, re-platform, etc.). Then we build a detailed migration plan with priority setting and choose the right R for each application (Relocate, Rehost, Replatform, Refactor, Repurchase, Retirement or Retain). We currently have an AWS Landing Zone – a secure AWS environment with a well-defined architecture.

Migration

In this stage we focus on each application. For each one a design is built, migrated and then validated before the cut-off. Regardless of the situation, we can help you with our experience so that you have quick access to the evolution of migration, what problems were encountered and how we try to solve them so that the time and effort allocated to this stage is minimal.

The best approach for many applications is to rapidly move to cloud and then re-architect in AWS. CloudEndure Migration quickly rehosts a large number of machines from multiple source platforms (physical, virtual, or another cloud) to AWS without worrying about compatibility, performance disruption, long cutover windows, or long distance data replications. For situations where you cannot install an agent-based migration service on your server, AWS Server Migration Service provides an agentless service to make it easier and faster to migrate thousands of on-premises workloads to AWS from a snapshot of the existing server.

Of the most common databases used by our clients applications are open-source, Microsoft SQL or Oracle. When migrating from one database source or version to a new platform or software version, AWS Database Migration Service keeps the source database remains fully operational during the migration, minimizing downtime to applications that rely on the database. Another service that facilitates the installation, operation and management of AWS databases is the Amazon Relational Database Service (Amazon RDS). It supports the following types of databases: Amazon Aurora, PostgreSQL, MySQL, MariaDB, Oracle and Microsoft SQL Server. More details about Amazon RDS can be found here.

If you have VMware Cloud Foundation-based environments, VMware Cloud on AWS quickly relocates hundreds of applications virtualized on vSphere to the AWS Cloud in just days, while maintaining consistent operations with your on-premises environments.

Operations and Optimizations

As applications are migrated, you optimize your new foundation, turn off old systems, and constantly iterate towards a modern operating model.

At this stage, you need to efficiently operate, manage and optimize workloads in the cloud. It is ideal to train the team of developers and application architects so that they are up to date with AWS services. If not, you can have a consultant, like Dendrio, who is constantly looking for ways to improve the operational model, or you can use AWS Management and Governance for an end-to-end lifecycle management of IT infrastructure for AWS and non-AWS resources. AWS Managed Services (AWS) assists with accelerating mistrust by providing continuous management, cost optimization and operation of new AWS infrastructure.
